Apple reportedly revisits plans for a television set after years of speculation
Apple is reportedly reconsidering the idea of creating its own television set, more than a decade after it shifted focus to the Apple TV set-top box. This follows years of speculation about an "Apple television," a concept first mentioned by Steve Jobs in 2010. According to Bloomberg, Apple is evaluating the possibility of a TV set as part of its plans to expand into smart home devices. This marks a shift from previous statements, including those from Tim Cook, who indicated that Apple had "no interest" in the television market. Currently, Apple TV+ holds only 3% of the streaming market, which includes users of Apple TV 4K and smart TVs with the service. Despite this, the company may explore partnerships with TV manufacturers to leverage its brand.
