Apple to manufacture AirPods in India starting early 2025
Apple will start manufacturing AirPods in India for the first time in early 2025. Foxconn will produce the wireless earphones at a factory near Hyderabad, which has been testing production on a small scale. This marks only the second major Apple product assembled in India, following the iPhone. The decision to move production was influenced by financial incentives from the Indian government and Apple's strategy to reduce reliance on China. Previously, AirPods were assembled in China and Vietnam. Exports of Apple iPhones from India have increased significantly, reaching nearly $6 billion in the last six months. Most AirPods made in India will be shipped to other markets.
