Apple updates HomePod mini packaging with new box design
Apple has updated the packaging for the HomePod mini, its small smart speaker. This change comes as rumors of a new version of the HomePod mini circulate, expected to be announced later this year. The updated HomePod mini now ships in a new white box. Unlike the previous packaging, which featured illustrations of the speaker, the new design includes the Apple logo on top and the HomePod mini logo on one side. Previously, each color of the HomePod mini came in a matching colored box. The HomePod mini was offered in space gray and white, and in 2021, Apple added blue, yellow, and orange. Each of these colors had its own tinted box. However, the new all-white box standardizes the packaging across all colors, similar to the box used for the HomePod 2. The reasons behind this packaging change are not clear, especially with a new model on the way. Last year, Apple made a similar update, replacing the space gray version of the HomePod mini with a new midnight color, which has a slight bluish tint. The HomePod mini is priced at $99 in the U.S., while the larger HomePod 2 costs $299.
