Apple's Tap to Pay launched in nine European countries

Apple has expanded its Tap to Pay service to nine more European countries. The new countries include Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. Tap to Pay allows businesses to accept contactless payments using an iPhone. This service does not require any extra hardware or a payment terminal. It can be a helpful tool for merchants, but some find the name confusing. Businesses in these countries can now use Tap to Pay on iPhone XS models and later, running the latest iOS. They can accept payments from debit and credit cards as well as from digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Wallet. Apple emphasizes that the payment data is secure. All transactions are encrypted and processed safely through the iPhone's Secure Element. This means Apple does not know what customers are buying or who is making the purchase.
