Apple's top recruiting executive departs for Citadel as HR team faces changes

Apple's top recruiting executive, Sjoerd Gehring, is leaving to become chief people officer at Citadel, an investment firm. This follows the recent departure of Apple’s Chief People Officer, Carol Surface, after 18 months in the role. Gehring's exit adds to a series of departures from Apple's human resources team, including leaders in diversity and inclusion. Employees have expressed concerns about dysfunction within the HR division under Surface's management. Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s retail chief, will replace Surface. O’Brien previously oversaw HR duties and is expected to bring stability back to the team.
