AR Rahman to appear in Malayalam film *Aaraattu*

AR Rahman will make a rare on-screen appearance in the Malayalam film *Aaraattu*, starring Mohanlal, after three decades. This marks his return to the industry, where he last composed music in 1991. Initially hesitant to act, Rahman was convinced by the film's tribute to his music and its connection to Malayali audiences. Director B Unnikrishnan highlighted the importance of Rahman's character in the story. The film, set to release on February 18, features action and drama, with Rahman shooting his scenes in Chennai in March 2021. It also stars Shraddha Srinath and Ramachandra Raju in key roles.
