Archaeologists in Brittany, France, have uncovered an 1,800-year-old gold ring featuring a carving of Venus, the Roman goddess of victory. The ring, found in excellent condition, dates back to the second or third century A.D. The discovery also included medieval coins from the ninth to tenth centuries, linked to the Carolingian Empire. The site revealed remnants of a hamlet that thrived around 1,300 years ago, with structures made from earth, wood, and plant materials. The hamlet appears to have been abandoned in the 10th century, possibly due to Viking raids, though the exact reasons remain unclear. Other artifacts found include tableware and cooking pots.
