Argument over car leads to woman’s fatal shooting
A man has been charged with murder after a woman was shot and killed during an argument over a car in Oakland. The incident happened on March 13. The victim, Kailie Brannum, was 24 years old and in a relationship with the suspect, Robert Snead, 25. Snead faces several charges, including murder, carjacking, and illegal firearm possession. He is currently being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Police say Brannum was shot in a motel parking lot where Snead had been staying. The argument started when Snead wanted to use Brannum's car, a Honda sedan, and she disagreed. After the shooting, he left her body in the parking lot and drove away in her car. Authorities found him in San Francisco the following morning. Police attempted to chase Snead but he crashed the car and tried to run away on foot. He was quickly caught by officers. They recovered a stolen semi-automatic pistol at the scene. Snead has not cooperated with investigators or provided a DNA sample as required by the court.
