Arizona Senate Finance Committee passes House Bill 2704

The Arizona Senate Finance Committee has approved House Bill 2704 with a narrow 4-3 vote. This bill aims to redirect sales tax revenue from Chase Field and income tax revenue from the Arizona Diamondbacks to fund repairs and upgrades for the stadium. Gallego highlighted a disparity, stating, "It cannot be true that the state has enough money to pay for new club seats and luxury boxes at Chase Field, but not enough money to keep our schools open." The Diamondbacks support the investment, arguing it will benefit the community as a whole. However, the bill still needs to pass additional reviews in the Senate before it can be sent to the governor for final approval.
