Studio Wildcard has confirmed that Ark 2 is still in development. This news comes alongside their announcement of the upcoming expansion for Ark: Survival Ascended, named Ark: Lost Colony. The expansion is set to launch in November 2025. Ark: Lost Colony is the first original expansion for the updated game and will link storylines from previous expansions, Extinction and Genesis, and lead into Ark 2. The release date for Ark 2 remains uncertain, but Wildcard recently shared a detailed roadmap for Ark: Survival Ascended through 2026. The expansion promises exciting new features, including anime-style cutscenes created by MAPPA, the studio known for popular series like Attack on Titan. Michelle Yeoh will reprise her role from Ark: The Animated Series, alongside other voice actors such as Madeleine Madden and Auli'i Cravalho. Lost Colony will introduce players to a large occupied city, new character abilities, unique gear, and various new creatures to tame. The expansion will be priced at $30 and is now listed on Steam. This expansion is expected to close the narrative gap between Ark and Ark 2, as fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel since its announcement in 2020. Although it was initially expected to release in 2022, there has been no official update on its schedule.
