Arnold Yarrow, oldest surviving Doctor Who actor, dies at 104
Arnold Yarrow, the oldest surviving actor from Doctor Who, has died at 104. He played Bellal, a masked alien, in the 1974 episode "Death to the Daleks." His character led subterranean humanoids on the planet Exxilon. Yarrow also portrayed Benny Bloom in EastEnders from 1988 to 1989. His character's attempts to marry Ethel Skinner were thwarted, leading to his departure from the show. He was a prolific writer and script editor for various television programs. Born Arnold Stein in 1920, Yarrow had a diverse career in acting, directing, and writing. He served in the Army during World War II and later worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is survived by a brother.
