Arrest made after Tanishq store heist in Bihar

A man was arrested in Bihar's Araria after a confrontation with police. He is accused of stealing jewelry worth ₹ 25 crore from a Tanishq store in Arrah. The incident happened on Saturday morning during a police operation. The accused, named Chunmun Jha, allegedly engaged in a gunfight with the police instead of surrendering when requested. Three officers from the Special Task Force and Jha himself were injured during this encounter. The police announced that he has been taken to Narpatganj for medical treatment. The robbery took place on March 10 and was recorded by CCTV cameras in the store. According to Kumar Mrityunjay, the store manager, the robbers stole cash and various valuable items, including gold chains, necklaces, bangles, and diamonds. Mrityunjay also expressed frustration over the police response time, stating that they did not answer calls for help during the robbery. He mentioned that two employees were injured in the attack, which involved at least eight robbers.
