Arsenal hasn't progressed in negotiations for Guimaraes
Arsenal is preparing to be active in the summer transfer window but is unlikely to make a move for Bruno Guimaraes anytime soon. Fabrizio Romano reported that there has not been any serious contact between Arsenal and the Newcastle United midfielder. Arsenal has faced significant injury problems this season with key players like Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus missing games. This situation has made it clear that the team needs top talent if they hope to compete for the Premier League title next season. Guimaraes was thought to be a strong candidate for this role. Guimaraes, who joined Newcastle three years ago, has impressed with his skills. He has played 144 matches for the team, scoring 20 goals. His statistics show he is a valuable player, ranking high in assists and tackles among his teammates. However, despite speculation of a potential transfer that could cost around £100 million, Romano emphasized that no formal negotiations have taken place. Romano explained that while Guimaraes was on Arsenal's radar when Edu Gaspar was the director, the club has not made any offers. If signed, he could join a midfield that includes Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, strengthening Arsenal's chances in the upcoming season. Guimaraes has also played for Brazil, earning 33 caps for his national team. However, completing a transfer might be difficult if Newcastle secures a spot in the Champions League.
