Art Basel Hong Kong showcases over 30 filmmakers' works
Art Basel Hong Kong will showcase films from over 30 filmmakers this year. The main feature will be "Vampires in Space," a film that blends science fiction with social commentary. In today’s fast-paced world, the term "attention economy" highlights the challenge of focusing. Visitors at Art Basel Hong Kong often engage with art briefly and repeatedly. However, the film section encourages a different approach. Here, audiences are invited to take their time and immerse themselves in the experience. Art Basel started in Switzerland in 1970 and introduced a film section in 1999. The Hong Kong fair has included film presentations since its second year in 2014. Over the last decade, more than 300 films have been featured, including works by notable directors like Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Takashi Murakami.
