Art exhibition in Hong Kong critiques office culture
A new art exhibition in Hong Kong, titled "RE:URGENT," challenges traditional office culture. Curated by Renee Lui, the show features four artists using office cubicles to present their work, subverting the typical corporate environment. One artist, Dominic Johnson-Hill, displays a surreal digital clock and a piece inspired by a coffin store, critiquing aimless work culture. Another artist, Riya Chandiramani, role-plays as an unpaid intern, exploring themes of feminism and age in the workplace. The exhibition runs during Hong Kong's "Art Month," diverging from mainstream art fairs due to high costs and market uncertainty. It reflects on the city's diminishing freedom of expression since the 2020 national security law.
