ASHA workers demand salary raise and job regularization

ASHA workers held a protest on Monday at the Dindigul Collectorate. They demanded a salary increase and better working conditions. The workers, led by district secretary Pitchaiammal and convenor P. Selvi, called for their monthly salary to be raised to ₹26,000. They also wanted workers with over ten years of service to be promoted to Health Nurse positions. The ASHA workers expressed concerns about being forced to work overtime. They asked for this practice to end and for better treatment from their employers. Additionally, the workers requested improved incentives, along with the implementation of gratuity, provident fund (PF), and Employees' State Insurance (ESI) benefits. They urged the Central government to provide necessary funding for these changes.
