Assad's in-laws leave London home as rebels advance on Damascus
Bashar al-Assad's in-laws, Fawaz Akhras and Shar Otri, left their home in North West London a week ago as Syrian rebel forces advanced on Damascus. Neighbors reported the house has been empty since their departure. Fawaz Akhras, a cardiologist, had been living alone in the house for several months. His wife, Shar, reportedly left earlier. The couple has maintained a low profile since the Syrian civil war began over a decade ago. Asma al-Assad, their daughter, is believed to have fled to Russia last week with her three children.
