Aster distributes Iftar kits to Dubai motorists stuck in traffic
In Dubai, Aster DM Healthcare and Dubai Police have launched a campaign to help motorists stuck in traffic during Ramadan. This initiative provides Iftar kits to those who need to break their fast while on the road. It is the sixth year of the campaign, which is run by Aster Volunteers and supported by over 100 community volunteers. Each day, around 5,000 Iftar boxes are distributed at five major traffic junctions in the city. This year, volunteers plan to provide a total of 150,000 Iftar boxes over the 30 days of Ramadan. The boxes contain essentials such as dates, water, juice, and a cake. Dr. Azad Moopen, the founder of Aster DM Healthcare, highlighted the importance of the initiative. He noted that many drivers face challenges in getting home on time to break their fast. The Iftar kits help alleviate this stress, allowing drivers to enjoy their meal safely before continuing their journey. First Lieutenant Abdullah Abdulrahman from Dubai Police also praised the initiative. He emphasized that it promotes community spirit and generosity during Ramadan. The partnership between Aster DM Healthcare and Dubai Police aims to ensure the well-being of motorists during the holy month. Last year, the campaign distributed 150,000 Iftar kits across the UAE, with 117,000 given out the year before that. This year's expansion shows Aster DM Healthcare's commitment to supporting the community during Ramadan.
