ndtv.com —
A small asteroid named 2024 PT5 will become a temporary "mini-moon" for Earth from September 29 to November 25. It was first detected on August 7 and measures about 33 feet wide, originating from the Arjuna asteroid belt. The asteroid will not be visible to the naked eye or with standard binoculars. Only professional telescopes can capture images, which will be shared online. 2024 PT5 will not complete a full orbit around Earth but will be slightly altered by its gravity before continuing its journey. It is expected to return in 2055.
