Asus Vivobook 18 launched as affordable 18-inch laptop

Asus has introduced the Vivobook 18, an 18-inch laptop designed for budget-conscious users. Its 18.4-inch display has a resolution of 1920 × 1200 and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. This makes it a decent option for programmers and those needing extra screen space. The display is bright at 300 nits and reduces blue light emissions for comfortable viewing. The laptop is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 260 CPU, featuring eight Zen 4 cores. This allows for smooth multitasking and efficient performance. The Vivobook 18 also includes AMD Radeon 780M graphics for multimedia tasks. It supports up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and comes with PCIe 4.0 SSD options starting at 512GB. For connectivity, the Vivobook 18 offers a range of ports, including two USB Type-C, two USB Type-A, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The USB-C ports support external monitors and charging, with a bandwidth of 5 Gbit/s. The laptop is equipped with a 75Wh battery that supports fast charging. It can reach 60% charge in just 49 minutes. Enhanced heat management features, such as upgraded heat pipes, help maintain performance during heavy workloads. The Vivobook 18 has a sleek design, measuring just 1.86 cm thick and weighing 2.6 kg. It meets military durability standards and includes a Windows Hello-compatible infrared camera for secure login, along with a physical webcam cover for privacy. Currently, the Vivobook 18 is available in Germany for €899, with plans to expand to other markets soon.
