A lawyer fighting against Sean "Diddy" Combs has stepped back from more than a dozen lawsuits. Tony Buzbee, a Texas attorney, has withdrawn from at least 14 cases in the Southern District of New York. The withdrawal comes as Combs faces serious criminal charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations related to sex crimes. A U.S. District Judge, Ronnie Adams, highlighted that Buzbee is not licensed to practice in the Southern District of New York. Buzbee admitted to making an error by not informing the court of his admission status. He submitted a letter explaining his situation and requested to withdraw from the cases until he resolves the issue. Buzbee, who is admitted to practice in other courts, claimed that rapper Jay-Z filed a grievance against him to stop him from working in New York. This grievance arose after a plaintiff, who initially sued Combs, added Jay-Z to the case. The plaintiff later dropped the lawsuit. Combs’ federal criminal trial is set to begin on May 5. He remains in custody in Brooklyn, New York, after being denied bail several times.
