Attorney withdraws from 15 Diddy abuse lawsuits
Attorney Tony Buzbee has decided to withdraw from 15 sexual abuse lawsuits against Sean "Diddy" Combs. This decision came after Buzbee admitted to a court that he had made an error by not disclosing he was not authorized to practice in that court. Buzbee has been involved in over 20 cases against Combs. He mentioned that the issue with his admission status was distracting from the main goal of securing justice for the plaintiffs. He stated this in a letter to Judge Ronnie Abrams. Buzbee is allowed to handle cases in New York state courts and other jurisdictions. Despite stepping back, Buzbee is still a member of the New York State Bar and believes he is qualified for the cases. Other attorneys will now take over the lawsuits against Combs in federal court. Diddy is facing numerous allegations, including many civil lawsuits and serious criminal charges. A jury trial is scheduled for May, where he could face a life sentence if convicted. Buzbee has also previously included Jay-Z in one of the lawsuits, accusing him of involvement in a 2000 incident. Jay-Z denies these claims and has sued Buzbee and the accuser for defamation. A month ago, the case against Jay-Z was dropped without any settlement.
