Auckland boy Lachie Love dies from DIPG cancer

nzherald.co.nz

Lachie Love, a 10-year-old boy from Auckland, has passed away after a long battle with a rare and aggressive brain cancer called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). He was diagnosed with the illness just after Christmas in 2022. Since his diagnosis, Lachie and his family worked on fulfilling a bucket list of exciting experiences. They included meeting famous musician Ed Sheeran and taking a ride in a $500,000 supercar. Lachie died at home, surrounded by his family, including his younger brother, Harry. Lachie's funeral is planned for Sunday and will celebrate his vibrant spirit. Giant inflatable T-Rexes will help hand out the order of service, and there will be a Nerf gun salute to honor him. His parents, Liesje and Andy Love, describe the service as "fun" and centered around the people who loved him.
