Audio implicates BJP leader in framing cow vigilantes
A viral audio clip has sparked a political scandal in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh. The clip allegedly features Mayur Dubey, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), talking with police officer Omeshwar Thackeray. They seem to discuss plans to frame members of a Hindu organization, suggesting they would create false stories against their rivals. In the recording, Dubey reportedly talks about paying for a scheme that would use cow smugglers to trap their opponents. He is heard saying they would cover all costs and involve physical intimidation against those who report them. The police officer apparently mentions that leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) are aware of certain individuals' activities related to this conspiracy. Authorities have reacted swiftly. The Superintendent of Police in Seoni confirmed that an inquiry is underway and that Thackeray has been removed from his position to maintain fairness in the investigation. The audio suggests tension between BJYM and other Hindu groups, indicating possible corruption involving police and cow smugglers. Seoni has been a hotspot for cow smuggling, with numerous cases reported last year. The area saw significant unrest when mutilated cow bodies were found, leading to the removal of local officials. The issue of cow vigilantism has also seen violent incidents in the past.
