Aussie stars return for IPL season in India
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is starting again, with 15 Australian players, including three star fast bowlers. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood are set to play after missing some recent games. Cummins had time off after becoming a father for the second time and hasn’t played since leading Australia in January. Starc opted out of the Champions Trophy due to personal reasons and needs some recovery time. Hazlewood is back after being injured, which kept him out of most Tests against India last summer. The trio is expected to impact their teams. Cummins and Travis Head will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad. They were key players in last year’s season when the team reached the finals. Starc, now with Delhi Capitals, hopes to continue his strong form. He was named player of the match in the finals but was not retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders. Hazlewood is with Royal Challengers Bangalore after missing last season for personal reasons. Other Australians in the league include Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis with the Punjab Kings, and Nathan Ellis with Chennai Super Kings. The IPL promises exciting matches ahead.
