In Mizoram, authorities seized 64kg of Indian pangolin scales during a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Champhai Forest Division. The operation took place near Zokhawthar, a border village, on Saturday. Two suspects, Rosiamliana (40) and Nazarene Thanga (31), were arrested while attempting to smuggle the scales into Myanmar. The scales were hidden inside egg cartons. The seized pangolin scales are valued at Rs 64 lakh. The suspects and the contraband have been handed over to the Champhai forest department for legal action.
