Autorickshaw driver commits suicide after gambling losses
A 29-year-old autorickshaw driver named Rajasekar took his life after losing a large amount of money in online gambling. He was found dead near Sunguvarchatram on Monday night. Rajasekar had inherited Rs 10 lakh from his in-laws. He used this money to gamble online and lost it all. Afterward, he pawned his autorickshaw to continue gambling but lost the vehicle as well. It was later confiscated due to unpaid debts. To cope with his financial troubles, Rajasekar took a job at a private company. He borrowed another Rs 10 lakh from friends and family, but he lost that money too. When his lenders began pressuring him for repayment, he felt overwhelmed and took his own life by hanging himself at home. The police in Sunguvarchatram have sent his body for a post-mortem examination. This incident highlights the risks of online gambling and its severe impact on mental health.
