Avesh Khan cleared to return for Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants have some good news as star pacer Avesh Khan has been cleared to rejoin the team after an injury break. Avesh has been out of action for about two months due to a right knee issue. His last match was in late January. He also missed a recent game for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. Avesh received approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical staff this week. He had been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Avesh completed one of his final fitness tests on Monday. While it's not confirmed when he will play, he is expected to be available for the team’s next match on March 27 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Lucknow lost their first match of the IPL 2025 season to the Delhi Capitals. They have faced injury challenges with several key Indian pacers unable to play. Mayank Yadav is recovering from an injury, and Akash Deep is not fully fit after a back injury. Lucknow's assistant coach, Lance Klusener, mentioned that the team will need to adapt until they get their injured players back. If Avesh is ready to play, he will likely take Prince Yadav’s place in the lineup. Yadav struggled in the last game, conceding 47 runs in four overs.
