AWS generative AI executive Raj Aggarwal starts new venture
Raj Aggarwal is leaving Amazon Web Services (AWS) after nearly three years as the General Manager of its generative AI and revenue acceleration division. He announced his departure in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday. In his message, Aggarwal expressed pride in the work his team accomplished in generative AI. He highlighted that they created some of the first large-scale generative AI products, which have been widely adopted by sellers and led to a 4.9% increase in pipeline generation. During his time at AWS, Aggarwal was key to the development of various AI projects, including the AI foundation models and the Bedrock AI development platform. He was also involved with Amazon’s generative AI assistant aimed at businesses, known as Amazon Q. Aggarwal plans to start a new company, although he did not share specific details about it. He has experience in entrepreneurship, having previously founded Localytics in 2009, which received significant funding before being acquired in 2020. He also started Demand Sage in 2018, securing $3 million in venture capital before it was bought by Snap in 2021. TechCrunch has reached out to Aggarwal and AWS for further information.
