Ayodhya fires cause ₹40 lakh in damages

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Ayodhya experienced two significant fire incidents on Tuesday, causing extensive damage estimated at nearly ₹40 lakh. The first fire broke out at Triveni Sadan, a multi-storey building on Ram Path. This facility houses a dormitory, shops, a restaurant, and a parking area. The flames prompted a quick response from the fire brigade. Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit in an air conditioner's wiring. Fortunately, firefighters contained the blaze before it could spread. No injuries were reported in this incident. The second fire occurred at Kamla Traders, a clothing store in the Jamunia Bagh area. This fire also seems to have been caused by a short circuit. The shop was fully engulfed in flames when locals noticed smoke around 7 am and alerted the shop owner and police. Rajendra Ahuja, the shop owner, estimated the loss to be between ₹35-40 lakh, as all merchandise was destroyed. Kotwali Inspector Ashwini Pandey and his team responded quickly and extinguished the fire within an hour. They were able to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby shops. Pandey confirmed that the quick action prevented any loss of life or additional damage to the surrounding area.
