Banks mocked Rowling's rhetoric while resharing a post praising the author’s achievements. This is not Banks' first public attack on Rowling. In February, she questioned Rowling's focus on the trans community, suggesting it was unnecessary given her success. Banks has faced backlash for her own past comments about the trans community. Recently, she was removed from the Milkshake Festival lineup in Amsterdam due to her history of anti-LGBTQ+ remarks, prompting an apology from the festival organizers.
