B-PACS credit limit increased to 15 lakhs in Lucknow
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an increase in the credit limit for multipurpose primary rural cooperative societies (B-PACS) from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. This decision aims to provide better financial support to farmers. The announcement was made during the 61st annual meeting of Uttar Pradesh cooperative banks. The Chief Minister also introduced cooperative banking in Balrampur district. Adityanath urged banks to support young entrepreneurs, highlighting a new initiative that has already helped over 32,000 youth with loans for their projects. He criticized previous governments for misusing cooperatives for personal gain, which led to losses for farmers. Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reviving the cooperative sector and reported that 49 out of 50 cooperative banks in the state are now profitable. To support farmers, he mentioned that fertilizer needs will be managed through B-PACS and cooperatives while combating black marketing. The CM emphasized the importance of small enterprises and the role of cooperatives in strengthening them. He encouraged the use of new technology in cooperative banking to improve efficiency and transparency. He also stressed the need to extend services to farmers, youth, women, and underserved communities.
