Babysitter accused of abusing boy nearly 1,000 times

A babysitter in Munich, Germany, is facing serious charges for allegedly abusing an 11-year-old boy nearly 1,000 times over seven years. The suspect, Florian K., 37, worked for the boy's family and slept in the child's bunk bed. The boy's mother hired Florian K. in 2010. She found him on a babysitting website, unaware of his past criminal record for sexual abuse. According to prosecutors, Florian K. became like a father figure to the boy but began to abuse him while others were asleep. Reports claim he created a code system using emojis to communicate his demands. For example, he would send the child an open mouth emoji to ask for oral sex. The abuse is said to have occurred regularly, sometimes even daily. Florian K. is now on trial at Munich Regional Court for aggravated sexual abuse of a child. He has denied the charges but admitted to abusing a different boy in 2008, for which he served time in youth detention. He alleged that he was also a victim of abuse during his childhood. The trial continues, and Florian K. has been in custody for over a year since his arrest in early 2024.
