Badrinath humorously rekindles CSK-RCB rivalry before IPL
Subramaniam Badrinath has brought back excitement for the IPL rivalry between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He shared a funny video on Instagram just days before the IPL 2025 season starts. Badrinath, a former player for CSK, played for the team for six seasons and has also been with RCB. The two teams will face each other twice during the league stage of the tournament. Their first match will be in Chennai on March 28, followed by a game in Bengaluru on May 3. The rivalry between CSK and RCB is intense and attracts a lot of fan attention. In their last match, RCB celebrated a close win against CSK, showing how much such victories mean to them. Last season, RCB made it to the second round while CSK did not advance. In his viral video, Badrinath humorously avoided acknowledging RCB while meeting other teams. CSK has won the IPL championship five times, making them one of the most successful teams in the league. In contrast, RCB has reached the finals three times but has never won the title. For the upcoming season, Rajat Patidar will captain RCB for the first time, replacing Faf du Plessis. CSK will continue to be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who took over from MS Dhoni before the last season. Under Gaikwad, CSK did not make it to the playoffs in IPL 2024 despite his success in leading India to a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games.
