Balatro's update 1.1 release date remains unknown

The update for the popular game Balatro is coming, but there is still no set release date for version 1.1. Wout van Halderen, a representative from the game's publisher Playstack, reaffirmed at the Game Developers Conference that it is expected to arrive sometime in 2025. Despite this reassurance, even the publisher does not have complete information about the update. Van Halderen mentioned that the game's developer, known as LocalThunk, has kept details under wraps. "I don't think he'll let us know when it's gonna drop," he said, suggesting that it might come as a surprise. Van Halderen joked about trying to get information from LocalThunk by asking him about the rumored 200 new jokers that could be added in the update. However, he admits he might not learn anything until just before the rest of the players. LocalThunk has chosen to remain out of the public eye, even skipping major events like The Game Awards. He focuses on using his success to support other indie developers, stating, "I just happen to be the lucky one to be propped up." Although marketing Balatro was challenging, it gained popularity once players could access its demo.
