Bally's offers Bronx residents casino ownership shares
Bally's Corp. is offering Bronx residents the chance to buy shares in a planned casino near its golf course at Ferry Point. Residents could own up to 10% of the facility, with investments starting at $250. The company promises to allocate at least 1% of its gross revenues, over $10 million annually, to community programs in the Bronx. This includes funding for schools, housing, and mental health initiatives. Bally's needs state legislation to redesignate parkland for the casino. The state will begin accepting casino bids this summer, with at least 11 bidders competing for three licenses by the end of the year.
