Baltimore vocational training center seeks funding support
The NCIA Vocational Training Center in Baltimore recently graduated 67 students, but faces uncertainty due to a federal funding freeze. This freeze affects many nonprofits, including those offering vocational training for disadvantaged groups. VTC relies on federal grants and community support to fund its free programs in HVAC, automotive, and other fields. With potential budget cuts looming, the center is seeking alternative funding sources, such as corporate sponsorships and partnerships. Despite these challenges, VTC reports over 1,000 graduates currently employed, generating significant local wages. The organization is actively looking for more employer partnerships to support its mission of workforce development.
