Bangalore launches Cauvery Stage V project to boost water supply by 775 million liters daily
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) launched the Cauvery Stage V project on October 16. This project aims to provide an additional 775 million liters of water per day to 110 newly added villages in Bengaluru. Currently, Bengaluru needs 2,200 million liters of water daily but only receives 1,450 million liters from the Cauvery. The new project will help meet this demand and includes the construction of three booster pumping stations. The project will also increase water connections from 10.64 lakh to 15.64 lakh. While water prices may rise after a decade without increases, officials state the goal is to provide affordable water to residents.
