Barcelona missed opportunity to sign Desire Doue
Desire Doue, a 19-year-old football talent, made headlines during the UEFA Champions League match between PSG and Liverpool. He scored the decisive penalty kick that helped PSG advance to the quarterfinals. This performance showcased his skills to many football fans. PSG signed Doue from Stade Rennais for €50 million, along with performance-based bonuses. The French team is receiving praise for securing such a promising young player. Bayern Munich had also shown interest in signing him, but another club had a chance as well. Barcelona was offered the opportunity to sign Doue when he was still with Stade Rennais. Reports suggest the club considered the move last summer, after receiving encouraging recommendations. Barcelona saw him as a good fit due to his left-footed playmaking and ability to create chances. However, financial challenges prevented Barcelona from completing the transfer. As a result, Doue joined PSG and has started to make an impact, even though he is not yet a regular starter under coach Luis Enrique.
