Baseball teams win at Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach
High school sports had exciting games and schedules on March 23, 2025. In baseball, several teams competed at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Avonworth won against Amos Alonzo Stagg from Illinois with a score of 8-4. Central Bucks South narrowly defeated Thomas Jefferson 4-3, while Moore Catholic shut out New Castle 3-0. Looking ahead, various games are scheduled for Monday. In Class 5A, teams like Armstrong, Franklin Regional, and Latrobe will play in the afternoon. In Class 4A, Ambridge will face North Catholic, and Beaver will take on Hopewell. Other classes also have scheduled matchups throughout the day in different locations. Basketball playoffs are heating up as well. In the PIAA playoffs, boys' championship games are set for multiple classes, with notable matches taking place at the Giant Center this week. For the girls, competitive games are also coming up, including matchups for Class 6A and Class 5A. Softball teams had a strong showing too. Burrell won decisively against Hickory, scoring 18-0 at the Ripken Experience. South Fayette edged out Stevenson from Illinois in a close contest with a score of 7-5. In volleyball, matches are set for Monday night. Central Catholic, Hopewell, and Latrobe will all be competing against different opponents.
