Bay Area Chamber hosting National Civics Bee in April

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will organize the National Civics Bee on April 21. This event is designed for middle school students to show off their civic knowledge and leadership skills. The competition will be held at the Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center at 5:30 p.m. Chamber officials announced that 20 finalists were chosen based on their essay submissions. These students will participate in an interactive challenge that tests their understanding of the U.S. Constitution, government, and civic duties. Magen Samyn, president and CEO of the Chamber, expressed excitement about the event. She believes it is a valuable opportunity for students to engage with civics. The competition aims to develop leadership skills, critical thinking, and a greater appreciation for democracy. The top three students in the National Civics Bee will move on to compete at the state level. From there, one student from each state will advance to the National Competition.
