Bay City Central soccer dominates with 8-0 victory
Bay City Central High School is off to a strong start in soccer this season. On March 24, 2025, they played against Clio and won decisively with a score of 8-0. This win comes after their best season in over a decade last year, where they finished with nine victories. The game faced some challenges, including cold temperatures and light snow. But Central’s coach, Brandon Hopkins, praised his team's toughness. He noted that while some players had new roles this year, they seemed to work well together on the field. Delaney Hopkins made 13 saves in goal, which contributed to the shutout. Brynn Corrion was a standout player, scoring four goals and assisting on two others. Ava Garcia added two goals and one assist. Calli Moton scored once and provided three assists, while Marcela Facundo also contributed with one goal and an assist. Overall, it was a strong team effort to start the season. Bay City Central is looking to build on its recent success and keep the momentum going through the spring sports season.
