BBMP budget presentation scheduled for March 28

The BBMP budget will be presented on March 28. This will take place at the Town Hall, and it will be read by Special Commissioner (Finance) Harish Kumar. There is currently no elected council in place. The budget size is expected to reach around ₹20,000 crore. This increase follows a recent state budget that allocated ₹7,000 crore to the civic body, a jump from the previous ₹3,000 crore. The last BBMP budget was ₹12,371 crore, later revised to ₹13,116 crore. Sources say the upcoming budget may see an increase of about 50% to 52%. The budget was prepared after consultation with various stakeholders, including local MLAs. Recently, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar met with Bengaluru city MLAs to discuss the budget.
