BCCI sets ₹2 crore base price for marquee players in IPL 2024 auction

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased the minimum base price for marquee players in the upcoming IPL 2024 mega auction to ₹2 crore. This includes top Indian players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, as well as overseas stars like Jos Buttler and David Warner. The auction, set for November 26 in Jeddah, will feature 366 Indian players and 208 overseas cricketers. Franchises will compete for 204 available slots, including 70 for overseas players, with a total purse limit of ₹120 crore. Additionally, the minimum base price for all players has risen to ₹30 lakh, up from ₹20 lakh last year. Each IPL team can have a maximum of 25 players, including eight overseas players.
