Bears may draft running back Omarion Hampton
The Chicago Bears are actively working to improve their team for the upcoming season under new head coach Ben Johnson. One area they are focusing on is their running back position. Currently, they have D'Andre Swift but are considering adding another talented player to enhance their offense. During his time as offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions, Johnson utilized a two-back system effectively. Many analysts believe the Bears could target Ashton Jeanty, but Pro Football Network suggests they might choose to draft Omarion Hampton in the second round. Hampton had an impressive season last year, rushing for 1,660 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns, leading the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in both categories. He has been a standout performer, leading the conference in yards and attempts for two consecutive seasons. In addition to his rushing skills, Hampton has also shown his ability as a receiver, with 635 receiving yards and four touchdowns throughout his college career. Adding Hampton could significantly improve the Bears' offense. With Hampton alongside Swift, the team hopes to emulate the successful running-back duo of Gibbs and Montgomery from Johnson's previous coaching experience.
