Bears re-sign Doug Kramer to one-year contract
The Chicago Bears have re-signed Doug Kramer to a one-year contract. Kramer is an offensive lineman who played college football at the University of Illinois and was a standout at Hinsdale Central High School. He was drafted by the Bears in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. This new deal marks Kramer's fourth season with the Bears. He missed his rookie year due to a leg injury but remained on the practice squad. Since joining the team, Kramer has played in 18 games, with 16 of those games last season. In 2023, he briefly joined the Arizona Cardinals but has mainly been with the Bears. Kramer, who is now 26 years old, has played at both guard and center. Last season, he also took on a part-time role as a fullback, mainly serving as a lead blocker. However, his transition to fullback included a notable misstep. During a game against the Commanders, he fumbled the ball on his first carry at the goal line, leading to a turnover.
