Begumpul station in Meerut enhances regional connectivity
Begumpul station in Meerut is nearing completion and will enhance local connectivity and link the city to Ghaziabad and Delhi via Namo Bharat trains. It is part of India's largest underground Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) and Meerut Metro project. This station will be unique as it will serve both Namo Bharat and Metro passengers on shared tracks. It features two platforms and four railway tracks, making it the first project of its kind in India. The station is built 22 meters underground and spans over 6,000 square meters. It includes 20 escalators, with 13 already installed, and is designed for passenger comfort. The station is expected to be operational by June.
