Belagavi prioritizes water supply in vulnerable villages

Officials in Belagavi are prioritizing water supply projects in vulnerable villages as summer approaches. Senior district officials have been meeting to evaluate the water situation and take steps to prevent shortages. Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shindhe is visiting the most affected areas. He recently inspected projects in villages near Kagwad and assessed the multi-village drinking water scheme in Mangasuli. Shindhe emphasized the importance of mapping the entire water supply system and maintaining clean water tanks. He directed officials to focus on villages that regularly face water scarcity in the summer. Water availability for domestic animals should also be a priority, he noted. On Monday, Zilla Panchayat Project Director Ravi Bangareppanavar held a meeting to address operational issues under various water supply programs. Officials discussed policies for water management, 24/7 water services, and the formation of village water sanitation committees. They also covered challenges related to water taxes and how to effectively manage water resources.
