Belmonte urges Quezon City to support Abby Binay
Quezon City residents welcomed Makati City Mayor Abby Binay during her visit to City Hall on Monday. Mayor Joy Belmonte encouraged the audience to support Binay as the top senatorial candidate, highlighting her background as a lawyer, congresswoman, and mayor. In front of over 1,500 women at the Kababaihan Dance Competition, Binay celebrated the many roles women take on. She referred to women as "superwomen," suggesting they can excel in both professional and domestic responsibilities. She shared her own experiences, acknowledging the tough balance between being a mayor and a mother. Binay also presented her plans to improve the conditions for barangay officials, promising regular salaries and job security for barangay health workers. She met with around 1,000 urban farmers during her visit, praising the city's initiatives in urban farming for food security. Additionally, Binay reinforced her commitment to free maintenance medicines and expanding preventive healthcare in PhilHealth coverage. With a friendly message, she assured residents that they could rely on Makati for support, emphasizing a sense of community in Metro Manila.
