Ben Kraws named ECHL Goaltender of the Week
Idaho Steelheads goaltender Ben Kraws has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 17-23. This announcement was made on Monday by the league. Kraws, 24 years old, had an impressive week, winning all three of his games. He achieved two shutouts and maintained a remarkable goals-against average of 0.67, along with a save percentage of 96.7%. During his games against Allen, he stopped all 27 shots in a 7-0 victory, blocked all 31 shots in a 1-0 win, and made 31 saves in a 5-2 win. Currently under a one-year NHL contract with the Dallas Stars, Kraws has played 32 games this season and has a record of 20-8-4. He has achieved four shutouts and holds a goals-against average of 2.89. Kraws ranks second in the ECHL for shutouts and sixth for wins among goaltenders. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 195 pounds, Kraws is originally from Cranbury, New Jersey. He has also played three games for the Texas Stars in the AHL. Recently, he has been a key player for the Steelheads, starting five consecutive games and appearing in 12 of the last 13 since February 21. With only 10 games left in the regular season, the Steelheads are currently three points away from the final playoff spot in the Mountain Division, trailing by four points for third place. They will face the Tahoe Knight Monsters in four road games starting Wednesday, with the first game set to start at 8 PM MT.
